Hi, Andrew Garbers, MA, LMFT, LADC

Welcome to Be Curious and …

My name is Andrew Garbers. I work as a therapist providing mental health support for those wanting help managing life’s realities.

Please feel free to look around the site for more information on me and my interests outside of my main focus of therapy.

My Approach

I am very proud of the work I do and extremely grateful for the people I get to work with. If you and I were to work together, I think you’d find that I lean toward kindness with a direct approach. I pride myself on being relational therapist and a non-judgement listener. I find that most clients want a therapist who offers feedback and insights into the topics discussed rather than a stoic and robotic type of response.

Simple ideas

I believe good therapy is created and maintained through sessions together, of course, but mostly achieved through the work YOU do between sessions. For example, if I saw you every other week for a year, that is only 26 hours a year. Ultimately, the work you do will come back in benefits. Trust me, I know from my own experience.

Lasting impact

My goal is not to work with you forever. I want to help you develop the skills and resources that you already possess to have the life your ancestors have wanted for you.

Who | Be Curious and is made up of only me as a solo practitioner.

Why | Many of you are probably familiar with the phrase “Be Curious, Not Judgmental” and while we don’t know who actually said it first (it wasn’t Walt Whitman), I believe so deeply in the intent behind the statement. This idea is at the center of what makes for good therapy and for us to be good humans.

What | We are an outpatient mental health private practice.

Where | In person and online virtual / telehealth options

When | Monday through Thursday are my weekly available times.
